2023-2024 CSB Player Registration

Welcome

Welcome to the 2023-24 CSB Player Registration

Please note:

CSB Hockey primarily serves the towns of South Burlington, Shelburne, Charlotte, Hinesburg, Williston, and St. George as designated by the Vermont State Amateur Hockey Association (VSAHA).  If you are a resident of another city or town and wish to register a "new to CSB" player, please contact the CSB Registrar before proceeding.

USA Hockey Number: You will need your player's current year USA Hockey membership number in order to complete the registration process.

Late Fee: The CSB Board has instituted a $500 Late Fee for players in the 10U, 12U, and 14U programs that register after 8/15/23.  Why the push to complete registration so early?  The VSAHA Scheduler's meeting is mid-August, and if we don't get the number of teams exactly right, it wreaks havoc with game schedules.  We really want your on-time registration, not your late fee.  Thanks for your understanding!

Friend Referral Program: To encourage more people to participate in the amazing game of hockey, CSB is initiating a Friend Referral Program that will provide benefits to players and families that help bring new players to CSB. For each successful referral with full registration to the current season of hockey, each family will receive a 20% discount on your child’s registration for that year. The program rules are as follows:

  • A maximum of two referral discounts will be eligible in a single season per family.
  • To qualify for the referral program discount, the friend must be registered by the August
15th normal registration deadline and the referral discount request must be submitted prior to the start of the season.
  • The referral program qualification is for ages 10U and older. Friends cannot have been previously registered players with CSB.
  • Friends cannot come from another local (town hockey)program.
  • Family members are not eligible for the discount program.
We know that you all are key to our success as a community and volunteer-led program. Thank you in advance for sharing your love of our program and the game with your friends.

6U/8U Structure: For 2023-24, the 8U House Program will continue to serve as a stepping stone between the 6U Mini and 8U Travel Programs.  Youth 8U House will practice 2x/week and will be independent of Youth 8U Travel.  Girls 8U House will continue to practice with Girls 8U Travel.  6U eligible Player Ages = 3 to 7.  8U House eligible Player Ages = 6 to 10.

New to Hockey Discount: CSB offers a 50% "New to Hockey" discount for players that are just getting into the sport.  6U Players have a 50% registration option.  Others please contact the CSB Registrar to request a discount code before completing the registration process.

Full-Time Goalie Refunds: To help attract goalies and defray the cost of goalie equipment, CSB offers a 50% Goalie refund for individuals that play that position routinely at the 10U level and above.  Note: At registration, goalies will pay the full fees. Goalie refund recommendations will be made by Head Coaches after teams have been selected. CSB will provide goalie equipment to 10U Teams/Goalies if needed. Players at the 12U and 14U levels in need of equipment can contact the CSB Goalie Director.

Dust the Rust: CSB will be holding pre-season warmup skates for 10U players that are interested during the week of September 18, 2023 (Note: this is an additional option during registration).

Evaluations: CSB Evaluations will be held for 10U, 12U, and 14U Players on September 26 and 28, 2023. (Dates subject to change). These evaluations will be used to assess player skill levels and team placement (ie: Tier2, Tier3, or Tier4).

Playoff Commitment: VSAHA State Championship Weekend dates are still to be announced. 10U+ Players and Families are reminded to keep this weekend (which falls during school winter vacation) free on the calendar in the event that their team advances.  It's extremely difficult on the teams and players if they need to compete for the State Championship with a short bench.  Thanks!

12U & 14U Hawk2Hawk Hockey Camp:
We are very excited to announce a four-day hockey camp that will take place for our 12U & 14U age levels during the week prior to player evaluations and in lieu of Dust the Rust for these age groups. The coaching staff from the CVU Boys and Girls Hockey Teams will be running the camps and we think this provides a great opportunity for players to get ready for evaluations and to gain some exposure to high school hockey. The camp will cost $65 per player and run:

  • Sept 18
  • Sept 19
  • Sept 20
  • Sept 21
12U and 14U players will be able to sign up for the Hawk2Hawk Hockey Camp in the normal registration process.

Optional Skills Program

The Board is also pleased to announce the start of an optional skills development program for CSB players in the 10U and older age groups. The current plan for this program is to offer once-a-week skills training to players in the 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups from November through the end of the regular season.

These sessions, run by Meghan Sweezey of Girls 4 Hockey along with 5-6 other coaches and a goalie coach, will be optional and players will be able to register for this program for an additional $200 during registration for the 2023-24 season. The actual number of sessions and groupings of players will be determined based on actual registration numbers and partial refunds may be issued if we have to reduce the frequency of these sessions due to ice availability or extremely high demand for the program. More information regarding this program will be available in the registration process.
